PAAC Group is your trusted water and flood damage public adjuster

Our expertise will get you the best settlement for your water damage claim, without all the hassle.

For water damage to be considered a covered loss depends on two factors:

1) What caused the water damage
2) And how does your coverage respond to the causation

At PAAC Group, we offer a comprehensive, no-cost, no-risk service solution for your water damage claim. As a policyholder, it is your responsibility to both prove your claim and take steps to mitigate further water damage. Unlike other companies, PAAC Group stands out by simultaneously proving your water or flood damage claim, mitigating the damages, and completing the necessary repairs. We work solely for you, not your insurance company, ensuring that your financial interests and your home or business are fully protected.

Our team of public adjusters will thoroughly review your insurance coverages to determine which types of water damage your policy covers. Alongside our construction department and engineers, we will visit the site to assess the cause of the flood damage, define the extent of the damage, and determine the best method for repairs. If your claim is valid and your coverage applies to the cause, we will begin our systematic process to ensure you receive full indemnification from your policy, without any fee reductions in your claim settlement.

We handle all emergency and reconstruction work in-house, ensuring seamless service from start to finish. In cases where your insurer refuses to engage in reasonable discussions with our public adjuster, you have the option to escalate the matter through our legal partners. If your claim has been denied or your insurer refuses to provide the coverage you’re entitled to, PAAC Group, in collaboration with our legal partners, provides a one-stop solution to resolve these issues.

Why you should avoid using the insurers preferred vendors and the insurers position on policy interpretation

When using the preferred vendors recommended by insurance companies, there is a significant conflict of interest. These vendors are often seen as loyal partners to the insurer, providing opinions that favour the insurance company’s efforts to reduce their financial liability. Insurance companies tend to interpret your coverage in a way that minimizes their financial exposure, often relying on the opinions of non-experts to assess complex issues like the cause of the damage.

The preferred restoration vendors employed by insurers are frequently overworked and understaffed. These vendors are accountable to the insurer, not to you, meaning all communication, reports, and estimates are directed through the insurance company. To engage the services of these vendors, you are required to sign a retainer; however, these vendors have already signed agreements with the insurer, creating a clear conflict of interest.

These agreements typically involve reduced profitability for the vendors in exchange for a promise of increased work volume. Additionally, all communication and reports flow through the insurer, not you, and all estimates are reviewed and reduced by the insurer before being shared with you. Vendors who violate these agreements risk being removed from the insurer’s approved vendor list.

Insurance companies often claim to warranty the workmanship of their restoration vendors, but they do not provide a copy of this warranty to their policyholders. Furthermore, if these vendors cause secondary damages to your home, the insurer holds the vendor liable, advising you that since you have a signed retainer with the vendor, the insurer is not responsible for the additional damage.

Health concerns from water/flood loss or damage

Mold can begin to grow within 24 hours of water damage, making it crucial to start mitigation efforts immediately. In addition to mold, there may be hazardous substances embedded within building materials that need to be removed. It’s essential to test these materials before removal to prevent the spread of harmful contaminants. If building materials are not tested and later found to contain hazardous substances, this could lead to cross-contamination throughout the entire house or business. Similarly, the absence of proper containment measures during the removal process can also cause cross-contamination, further spreading these dangerous materials.

The types and classifications of water damage vary, but they can all pose serious environmental risks if not handled correctly. HVAC systems exposed to hazardous substances can further compromise the safety and quality of the indoor environment, affecting the health of those inside. These issues are especially concerning as they can lead to respiratory problems, particularly in vulnerable populations such as the young, the elderly, and those with pre-existing health conditions.
